Odometer - 71,960 Powered by Ford’s 2.8-litre Cologne V6 engine, the early all-wheel drive XR4x4s were somewhat under-rated in period and are now eagerly sought by enthusiasts. This black example features a grey cloth interior and comes complete with factory-fitted sunroof and tow bar. In as-found condition it has age related marks on the paint and a cracked nearside front indicator lens, but looks set to do many more mile than the 71,960 apparently covered to date. Developed from the visually more distinctive XR4i, the relatively low key XR4x4 was first seen in three-door guise at the 1985 Geneva Salon. The four-door version was launched shortly afterwards.
