Registration - D303 NAT Chassis No. - WF0EXXGBBEGR93550 M.O.T. - July 2022 Odometer - 81,410 Cosworths are hot property these days and, unlike many that have led a hard life, ‘D303 NAT’ appears to have remained pleasingly unmolested. Finished in black that’s paired with grey interior trim, it is regarded by the vendor as have ‘excellent’ bodywork, paintwork, engine and five-speed manual transmission. He has, however, marked the interior down to ‘good’ as a result of ‘some cracks in the dashboard’. He informs us that the Cossie is completely standard apart from a big bore exhaust and alloy rather than plastic radiator header tank. A righthand drive, home market car first registered on February 13, 1987, it has had a total of nine owners to date, who between them have accumulated an indicated total mileage of 81,410. The car comes without service history, but does have sales invoices relating to some members of the armed forces who apparently temporarily exported it to Spain while they were stationed there. The history file also contains a selection of old MOTs plus a current one valid until July 8 next year. The RS Cosworth was conceived to gain homologation for Group A touring car racing, but was then also employed as a rally car. It was equipped with: suitable go-faster bodykit, including a sizeable high-mounted rear wing; uprated suspension and brakes; and was powered by a turbocharged version of Cosworth’s DOHC 16-valve YAA engine. Dubbed the ‘YBB’, it produced 204bhp at 6,000rpm and 205 ft lb of torque at 4,500rpm – sufficient to accelerate the newcomer to 60mph in little over 6 seconds and on to a terminal speed of around 145mph. In summary: • An apparently pleasingly unmolested example • Features a big bore exhaust and alloy header tank • MOT’d to July next year
