Registration - JK 2864 Chassis No. - GZU 8 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 90,941 This splendid and very original-looking 20/25 was apparently ordered new by the Earl of Bradford – a fact that’s been verified by the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club. The car was dry stored from 1993 to 2019, since when it has been treated to some light paintwork in the form of chip removal, plus the installation of new carpets and headlining by Woolies of Peterborough. Servicing has been entrusted to Ben Smith of Winkleigh in Devon. ‘JK 2864’ would make a magnificent addition to any collection of pre-war motorcars though, finished in the eye-catching livery of black over cream, it would seem especially suited to wedding hire. The interior is trimmed in grey hide and the vendor currently classes: the six-light Windovers coachwork as ‘excellent’; the six-cylinder engine, four-speed manual transmission and paintwork as ‘good’; and the upholstery as ‘average’, and adds that the Rolls is ‘an excellent car to drive’. The odometer currently registers a very credible 90,941 miles from new, and this charming post-vintage thoroughbred is now being offered complete with: stainless steel exhaust system, flashing indicator conversion, sunroof, wing-mounted spare wheel and tyre, external rear-view mirrors, Spirit of Ecstasy radiator mascot, the original logbook, and a comprehensive file of paperwork. If period elegance is your priority – look no further. Launched in 1929, the 20/25 followed established 'small' Rolls-Royce practice in that it was conceived and built to the same exacting standards as its larger Phantom II stablemate. Although based around the same leaf-sprung, drum-braked chassis design as its 20hp predecessor, the 20/25 enjoyed notably sharper acceleration, a higher top speed and better fuel economy, thanks to its larger 3,669cc, straight-six OHV engine. A total of 3,827 20/25s were built between 1929 and 1936. In summary: • A well-presented and seemingly very original example • Dry-stored for 26 years prior to 2019 • Recently treated to new headlining and carpets
